In 2007, YMCA Camp Ockanickon, Inc. provided
• 73 boys the opportunity to attend Camp Ockanickon for Boys and 68 girls the opportunity to attend Camp Matollionequay for Girls.
They increased their self-confidence, courage and independence. Through experiential based learnings, they had opportunities to develop life-skills and values while having fun in the outdoors.
• 165 boys and girls the opportunity to attend Lake Stockwell Day Camp where they shared experiences that foster positive relationships, healthy risk-taking and acceptance.
• 18 boys and girls the opportunity to attend our School Age Child Care program located in their own school. This provides a fun and safe after-school option.
Camp gives a child the opportunity of a lifetime. It is a place where they can reconnect with nature, get unplugged, build positive relationships, and engage in human-powered activites such as boating and swimming in a real lake!
Campers gain independence, responsibility and learn teamwork from interacting with peers in a safe setting. .
Many of us were lucky enough to have these experiences as children. Help us give that
to future generations.
