Come and join us at camp for a weekend of work and play!  RUYS is a great opportunity for families to spend some quality time together and give back to this beautiful place that we all love.  We hold this weekend twice a year, once in the Spring to get camp ready for our busy season and once in the Fall to provide some tender love and care for our facilities that saw use from thousands of participants over the summer.  Whether you are already in love with camp or are looking to get involved, this is your chance to “roll up your sleeves” and get your hands a little dirty!  Our camp staff members develop a work list ranging from jobs that require no specific skills to jobs that require someone with carpentry, plumbing, or electrical skills.  We also make sure there are jobs for families with small children to participate in.  Each participant gets to pick their job according to their own comfort level.

After the work is done, we have time scheduled for some camp activities including boating, archery, the climbing wall, and an evening campfire.  It’s really satisfying to be able to do some community service around camp as a family and to work side-by-side with camp staff and other people who are just as dedicated as you are.

• Trail maintenance
• Program area preparation
• Construction/Repair/Renovation of facilities
• Raking and debris clean up
• Gardening and landscaping
• Painting and staining
• Trash pick up
